Men’s Cricket
Men’s cricket is played in several different formats in the BWCV region throughout the year.
- Summer: 50 Over (ODI), T20, T10
- Winter (Indoor cricket): T10
50 over
The 50-over season (April to June) is split into three divisions: Regionalbundesliga, Regionalliga, and Verbandsliga with promotion and relegation between each division. The winning team of the Regionalbundesliga qualifies for the 50-over national playoffs between the winners of each of the DCB regional associations.
T20
The T20 season (July to August) is split into two divisions: Regionalliga and Verbandsliga with promotion and relegation between each division. There is also a nationwide T20 Bundesliga, also with promotion and relegation from the regional association league structures.
T10
The T10 season (September) is a group and knock-out style tournament without leagues. The top teams of each group progress to the knock-out rounds, where the winning teams progress until the final, where the T10 champion is crowned.
Indoor Cricket (Winter)
From December to February, the BWCV Winter season takes place. This functions similarly to the T10 season, with multiple groups and a knock-out style playoff round. However, the matches take place in large sports halls with slightly different rules, e.g. 3 runs for a wide and runs scored for hitting the walls. A batsman can also be out for hitting the ball too high.

Women’s Cricket
The premier competition in women’s cricket is the DCB T20 Bundesliga. There are currently two teams from the BWCV region that compete in the Bundesliga: BW-United (Champions 2023, 2024) and Südwest Damen Strikers. The teams play in regional groups, with the top 8 teams progressing to national playoffs.

Youth Cricket
BWCV supports youth development across many age groups and runs several state-level competition, with many players going on to be selected for national level development squads. Youth leagues run throughout the year in both summer and winter.
On a national level, there are youth (boys) teams in the U19, U17 and U15 age groups.
On a state level, BWCV runs a U17 and U14 summer league and a U17, U14, and U11 Winter league.
